As you may know, I am a part of a new church plant in Hudson Wisconsin called “Sanctuary”. Through the Christian & Missionary Alliance, I have been given an opportunity to travel to Africa for 14 days to partner with missionaries that are serving there full time. On January 16th, I will be going with 2 others from Sanctuary to Senegal, where we will witness and help with the newest mission field of the C&MA. From there, we will be Traveling to Mali to partner with a missionary named Katrina.

Mali, which is almost twice the size of Texas (478,764 sq. mi.) lies in the Sahara Desert and is populated by a people that are 95% Muslim, 4.2% indigenous beliefs, and less than 1% Christian. Katrina’s work in Mali is mainly to prostitutes and prisoners, but extends to all she comes in contact with. We had the opportunity of having her come to our church this past spring to tell us about what she does and how we can help through prayer and finances. We are excited to be able to partner with her in more ways now as we seek to encourage and equip her while we are in Mali.

I know it will be heartbreaking in many ways as we are confronted with the reality of the situation in Africa concerning poverty, health, and the spiritual state they are in. I also know that it will be exciting to see what God is doing in Africa through the missionaries that dedicate their lives to service. Please pray that I would be able to support the missionaries to the best of my abilities as well as that I would grow in compassion and sacrifice not only while I am there, but for the rest of my life.

Check this beauty out. I can honestly say, it is so funny it’s almost worth it….nah, it’s not worth it….Just really funny. What do you think, should I get a “moustache”? It would make for a great conversation piece. Plus, if I wanted to disguise myself, I could just raise my moustache, and no one would know it’s me.

Most of you that read this know that I like to play music with a few other individuals and that we go by the name of Montreal. You probably also know that we play around Minneapolis and Saint Paul from time to time. What you may not know is that we have 2 AMAZING shows coming up. This is no joke. These are 2 of the best shows we have been a part of so far.

The first one is on September 26th (Tuesday night) at the Varsity theatre. We are playing with Romantica and Look alive. There are several reasons why you should come to the show. First off, to show your love and support for Montreal. 2nd – because the Varsity is just a really cool place! One of my favorite venues in the city. 3rd- Simply put, Romantica. -they are worth it! 4th – to watch Steve Goold work his magic on the drums. If that’s not enough, well you need to re-evaluate your priorities.

The second show is the following Friday, September 29th. We will be opening up for Sleeping at Last. They are a national touring band out of Chicago. They are awesome. I have been a fan of theirs for a few years now and to have the opportunity to play with them is a huge honor! Both shows are at 7:00 pm!
