Last night Fitz and Caleb came over to hang out with myself and Jenna. We chatted for a bit, and then went to Barkers to grab a bite. I have been going there a lot lately, but it’s good, so I don’t mind. Then we came back to our place and decided that we should see a movie. I had heard of this theatre in River falls that is really cheap, so we looked it up. It is called the “Falls Theatre” and it is quite amazing. They play new movies, but only one at a time for a week at a time. The admission is $3.00 for adults, and that is any time, not just a matinee. So not only is the movie really cheap for a brand new movie, but the snacks are super cheap too. Between all of us we got 3 large sodas, a large popcorn, and some candy and it rang up to a grand total of $4.50. A large popcorn costs $1.50 ($1.00 = med, $.75 = small) and sodas are $.50 for a small, and $.75 for a Large. It is an amazing deal. You could go to a feature film with your wife/girlfriend/friend/whoever, and have a large popcorn (which is enough for at least 2 people) and 2 large soda, and it would cost you $9.00 total! Now that’s a good deal since that’s what it would cost you to get 1 movie ticket at most theatres.

The movie that they are showing right now is: The Departed. This is a movie I wanted to see real bad, so it worked out perfectly. It is a good film with great acting by an all star cast, and directed by Martin Scorsese. It is a bit on the violent side, so if you are not into that, well…it’s up to you, but I do recommend the movie. Another thing that was great about the night was that when we got out of the theater, there were lot’s of college students roaming the streets of River falls all decked out in costumes. They were not messing around either. We are talking lot’s of elaborate and well designed costumes, and pretty much everybody was sporting one. When river falls throws a costume party, they do it right! All in all it was a great experience. Next time you are in the area, check it out!

The other day, I was in my local county market shopping for pickles for Jenna (don’t ask)…and I was met face to face with one of my favorite childhood cereals: Quisp! If you have never had this wonderful breakfast creation, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. In all honesty though, it pretty much tastes exactly like Cap’n Crunch, but without all the sharp edges. It’s a tasty treat.

Well, I am away at Camp Shamineau right now for their Fall MEA retreat. Adam Lamoureux and I came up here to help out with leading worship. It is really nice to get away from the city a bit and be in the woods, play night games, and watch hundreds of kids Praising God at the top of their lungs. It’s also great to hang out with Mark Johnson, who if you don’t know him, is one of the greatest people I know. I really enjoy spending time with him and being up here, but I do miss Jenna a lot! You would think that since I was single for 26 years of my life, it would be normal to sleep by myself, but last night when I was going to bed at 2:00 am, it just didn’t feel right without her next to me. She is my best friend and I can’t imagine life without her. All the while It is fun to be here and lead worship in this setting.
