I am guessing not many people still check this since I have been on the decline with my blogging. I don’t know why…maybe just because it’s the summer and i don’t feel like writing blog posts when I can do something outside…or maybe I am just lazy.
Anyways, I have recently given the sanctuary website a makeover. It was not a planned makeover, but one that came about due to an unknown error that happened when I upgraded my iLife software to the latest version. For whatever reason, when I did this, It didn’t transfer the website project like it should have. Apparently others had this problem as well. Some were able to recover their previous projects, I was not. it was honestly one of the 1st times in 5 years that I have been mad/disappointed in Apple. Normally, when you upgrade, your content is not in jeopardy, but that was not the case this time.
So, i was forced to start over from scratch…well not completely from scratch. I had all the content saved, so that was already done. I don’t change it dramatically, although it does look much different. It still functions pretty much the same. maybe it was a good thing, because I like the new one better, and I may not have changed it had this not happened. But, it still sucks that is really wasn’t an option. Oh well, 1 complaint in 5-6 years of owning a mac…not to shabby.
So, if you are bored, you can go check out the new and improved website.
Also, if you are on a PC, could you do me a favor and open it up in as many browsers as you have (internet explorer, firefox, netscape…anything you got). Sometimes websites don’t operate or look the same depending on the browser, and I want to make sure there aren’t huge problems in a certain browser. I know it is good in Safari, Firefo(mac), and Camino….but I don’t have a PC to check it on. Thanks…

Hey the site looks pretty good. Works great with Firefox on the PC but on IE there is a dark box that covers the bottom third of the start page and then stays there when you enter…doesn’t look the greatest, but who uses IE these days anyway?

A-Mark–
So far, the website is working fine on my Powerbook (Firefox). The only issue is while the pages are loading, you see the boxes/simple texts for each of them, but only for a second or so. I don’t know how to fix it, so I guess I’m not being very helpful. But the design itself looks really good, broseph.

Yeah, I don’t know how to fix that either. I think it may just be an issue that iWeb has since it is a very basic web design software. I am not super concerned with that, but it would be nice if it didn’t do that.
Anyways, thanks for your input. I wish i know dreamweaver or some other web software well enough to create in that to avoid some of the downfalls of iWeb.
