Sanctuary is a community seeking to live and teach Jesus and His Way. We long to see God’s kingdom in Hudson, St. Croix Valley, and the world “as it is in heaven.” It is our desire to be a community of people that together live and proclaim the “Good News” of Jesus bringing God’s blessing into the world. To find out more about us, explore the website.
Our values:
Dependence on God
Jesus made it pretty clear that apart from Him we can do “nothing.” We don’t just seek to depend on God for what to do as a church; we also depend on Him as individuals for the best possible life…today.
Authenticity
The Amazing Grace of God allows us to be who we really are. Because we can be ourselves before God, we desire the same as we live life with one another. No acting, covering up, or pretending…people authentically depending on God.
Community
Contrary to much of life in America, following Jesus is not an independent and isolated way of life. The Way of Jesus is meant to be a communal pursuit. We don’t go to church; we are the church.
Exploring Truth
The Truth about God, life, and the world is found in the person of Jesus Christ. Truth can be known but it is too big for us to grasp in full. As an authentic community, dependent on God, we will continually seek Truth so that we can better understand and live out the Way of Jesus in our daily lives—individually and corporately.
Renewal
God has been and will continue His work of restoring His creation until it is complete. Because of this we continually seek to enter into God’s work of renewing and restoring all things in the world including our very lives.
Mission
The church is not and was not intended to be a social or service club. Its existence is centered on God and His work in the world. Sanctuary doesn’t just have a mission; we are mission. Our purpose and function is centered on partnering with God in carrying out His work in Hudson, the St. Croix Valley, and the world.
